I think this stone is also called "blood jasper" ( yet another bit to confuse me ) but I kind of like the name "turtle jasper" better . This bead has earthy shades of brown , rust and golden yellow with just a bit of a sort of salmon pink. It is simply lovely - for some reason the pattern looks Victorian to me . It is top drilled from front to back and measures 46mm x 36mm and is 7mm thick .
