This bead has bands of dark purple and lavender - really cool . I don't believe it is jasper ( even if that is what the tag says ) and I am sure it is not amethyst - I think it is some type of color enhanced agate .It is drilled front to back at the top and measures 50mm x 33mm and is 7mm thick .
